Once upon a time, in a small pottery village, a Master Potter was molding a simple piece of clay. As he shaped it into a pot, he whispered to the clay, “There are five things you must know before you can live a life of purpose and become the masterpiece I envision you to be. Remember them well, for they will guide you through your journey.”
ONE: You will only become a beautiful and strong pot if you allow yourself to be molded and shaped by My hands.
The clay trembled at the thought. It did not know what form it would take or what it would become. But it trusted the Master Potter and surrendered to his touch.
TWO: You will have to go through the fire to be hardened and strengthened. The heat will be intense, and the flames will scorch, but this is necessary to make you resilient.
The clay was scared of the fire. It knew the journey would be painful, but it also understood that it could not live a life of purpose or become a strong pot without enduring the flames. It decided to face the fire with courage.
THREE: You will sometimes feel empty inside, but remember, you are designed to be filled. You have the capacity to hold precious things within you, things that can nourish and serve others.
The clay pot was comforted by this thought. It realized that being empty was not a sign of failure but an opportunity to be filled with purpose and meaning.
FOUR: The outside of you may be plain or cracked, but the real beauty lies within. Your true worth is not in how you look but in the content you carry and the love you share.
The pot learned to value what was on the inside. It understood that its worth was determined by its ability to hold and serve, not by its appearance.
AND FIVE: Wherever you are placed, you must serve with humility and grace. Whether in a palace or a humble hut, your purpose remains the same: to be a vessel of goodness, carrying love, joy, and compassion to all who come to you.
The clay pot was filled with a deep sense of purpose. It knew that, no matter where it was placed, it would always strive to fulfill its destiny as a vessel of service.
With these truths in its heart, the clay pot entered the kiln, prepared to face the heat and become all that the Master Potter intended. It emerged from the fire strong and beautiful, a masterpiece crafted with love and purpose.
Now, imagine you are the clay in the hands of the Master. Remember these lessons, and you too will live a life of purpose and become the best version of yourself:
ONE: Allow yourself to be molded by God’s hands and be open to His guidance.
TWO: Endure the trials that strengthen you; they are necessary for your growth.
THREE: Embrace moments of emptiness as opportunities to be filled with love, purpose, and grace.
FOUR: Understand that true beauty comes from within and is measured by the goodness you carry.
FIVE: Wherever life places you, serve with a heart full of love and humility.
By remembering these lessons, may we live a life of purpose, becoming vessels of light and love in a world that desperately needs both.
